Monday

Harold and Maude

This is just the sweetest movie, filled with great advice and beautiful bits and bobs

When I grow up I hope to be as wise as Maude

Sunday

Fynbos

One of my favourite things about living in eKhapa is the flora that happens upon my path

Just beautiful!

Thursday

Mememe & Two

You can now find my Accent Range at Mememe & Two in Parkhurst, Johannesburg.

Not only is it a store, the owners want to create a space for woman; for various events, from knitting circles and book clubs to sex talks.....

Tuesday

Gratefulness

This weekend I met some wonderful people; the universe telling me its OK.

And one of them, the granddaughter of a very special man told me to be grateful.

So...... thank you for what I have..... I will try to be better at being patient.

Along my travels

Friday

Compassion

So.....

Everyone has their own perceptions and ways of veiwing and responding to the world. It is not always easy and sometimes I wonder how we communicate to each other at all, yet we do, we have friends and lovers, people who will see the same situation differently and somehow we make it work

I think this is because we are able to have compassion for one another and if we can extend that compassion outside of our familiar circle

Well, we might just be on to something......

Wednesday

Stuff that make me giggle

"Of all days, the day on which one has not laughed is the one most surely wasted. " - Nicolas Chamfort

Locally known as Ou man se Balle..... hee hee hee

Monday

Time/Duet/Slot and Go

This ring stemed from an idea of time and it's cogs

2008

-TJL

which went from three parts to two parts

 2009 - TJL

and became an engagement ring for a very dear Mr Burger and is now available for men in sterling silver, white, yellow and rose gold and and platinum

then reworked for a LadyDot

2010 - TJL

and morphed into the Duet ring

2010 - TJL

The idea is that you have two parts that are different in colour and/or stones and when together, work as a joining of two tones. Available in rose and yellow gold, black and white diamonds, sapphires, with or without stones.

It's next metamorphosis has already begun...........

Wednesday

My hondie

Irish

Also known as Boff, Bundy and Mondi........

And he swims....

Monday

Lazy, thinking weekend.......

Reading, eating, bathing and watching movies.... and thinking about being an adult and making adult decisions; it is time to take responsibility for the choices I have made and to do something about those choices that no longer work for me....

This week will be one of putting some plans into action.........

Friday

My jewellery - The Accent Range

2009 - TJL

These rings are made out of Sterling Silver and perspex and are available in five different shapes:

Eight different colours (pink, green, red, grey, rouge noir, yellow, black and white) and they can be found in Johannesburg at Tinsel and Objekt and in Cape Town at Africa Nova, Imagenius and Statement Jewellers Showcase. Soon they will also be stocked on Makia's online store

These rings are bold, elegant, classic and well made. What I had in mind when designing them is that they accentuate your outfit; either matching your outfit or adding a splash of colour to your outfit and you can have them in a few different colours and shapes

There are also earrings and pendants available in the same colours:

2010 - TJL

2011 - TJL

Men's rings (also available in grey and rouge noir - do feel free to order in any of the colors available as well):

2011 - TJL

I am working on five different shapes for men and cufflinks will be available soon.

There will be new colours, new materials....

Wednesday

definitively African.....

Born in Africa

I love the shapes of these trees, I love going on long car rides and seeing their silhouettes dotted across the horizon, aaahh Africa, you... I love!

The beginning of what.....

The life lessons I have been dealing with over the last two weeks:

You can advise your friends but they may neither appreciate it or do anything about it

I need to define my boundaries - first I must figure out what they are

This leads to more questions but I will force my wandering mind to stay put and deal with these things first, one small step in front of the next, slowly..... steadily..... surely
